Adding acupuncture to Western Medicine for the best possible result - Traditional healing methods for any household.

What We Do

Serene Veterinary Services is a veterinary acupuncture practice working out of Kleinbrook Animal Hospital in North Houston. We strive to complement western medicine to provide your pet the best outcome.

What does acupuncture really DO?

Acupuncture is defined as stimulating particular areas of the body. Dr Rath trained at Chi University in Florida to select specific acupuncture points for each each pet based on traditional Chinese medicine philosophies. This includes the Five Elements Theory, the six Chinese pathogens, and principles of Qi, Blood, Yin, and Yang. Many acupuncture points are at locations where nerves have lower electrochemical resistance. There are also acupuncture points over bundles of mast cells which relate to inflammation and the immune system. Stimulating acupuncture points has also been proven to produce neurochemicals that reduce pain, promote healing, and improve the immune system.

What can acupuncture treat?

Acupuncture has primarily been studied in chronic conditions: arthritis, chronic GI disease, allergies, epilepsy, Feline Idiopathic Cystitis, and Intervertebral Disc Disease. However, acupuncture can also help your pet recover from a short-term problem such as severe ear infections, Cranial Cruciate Ligament tears, large skin wounds, or recovery from many surgeries.
